Emily teaches middle-school math in a small town in New Mexico. Her previous teaching gigs include a micro-district in rural New Mexico, where her biggest class had nine students; a 1,200-student high school in north St. Louis County; and a 400-student magnet high school in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She has taught English, math, and journalism, coached scholar bowl, and sponsored National Honor Society, newspaper, yearbook, and Gay-Straight Alliance. She lives in a small, mid-century house with her husband, cat, and five dogs. In her free time, she trains dogs.
